Your Choice for Permanent Hair Removal
You are not alone in having problem areas of unwanted hair growth. I understand that all too well, with a less than positive outlook on your self-worth in addition to feeling humiliated and embarrassed. I’m happy to tell you that you’ve come to the right place as a practical solution to resolve your unwanted hair issue. Anyone can benefit from electrolysis!
Permanent hair removal, more commonly known as electrolysis, continues to remain the only proven method of permanent hair removal recognized by the FDA and AMA in the 21st century. With leading technology, cutting edge equipment, and the advantage of modern day medicine, it is possible to comfortably and safely achieve permanent hairless results.
There are different factors that can precipitate hair growth: genetics, heredity, certain hormone diseases, a change in normal hormonal fluctuations throughout life, or even new medications to name a few. No matter your origin of hair growth, electrolysis is the best way to permanently remove hair. Electrolysis can be performed safely on all hair and skin colors and types, genders, ages, and on the majority of the face and body.
Electrolysis Explained
Electrolysis is the use of electric current to remove unwanted hair. Electrolysis has three main modalities for permanent hair removal based on the type of electric current they use.
Galvanic Method uses direct electrical current creating a chemical process when combined with body salts and moisture in the tissue to produce a caustic agent called lye. It is the lye that effectively decomposes the soft tissue.
Thermolysis Method uses high-frequency waves causing vibrations that produce heat. The heat serves to destroy the dermal papilla.
Blend Method uses the combination of both galvanic and thermolysis modalities to create a very efficient form of destruction.
One of the three electrolysis modalities is selected based on the hair, body, and skin type of each individual. Electrolysis works by inserting a tiny, sterile, needle-like probe about the size of a hair into the natural opening of the hair follicle. Most people describe the treatment as a small pinching or producing a sensation of heat. The idea is to insert the probe into the follicle of the hair, destroying the dermal papilla including the germ cells, killing each individual hair follicle one at a time. As we continue to treat the hair follicles over time they become lighter, thinner, and finer until eventually they are permanently removed.
Stages of Hair Growth
Anagen- Growing Stage-the hair’s active growing phase: when the blood source and the nutrient source is most accessible
Catagen- Shedding Stage-hair is starting to detach from blood supply and shed
Telogen- Resting Stage-follicle is pushing hair out and ready to grow a new hair
Expectations
It is recommended to perform electrolysis during the Anagen phase of hair growth. This is why scheduling consistent appointments on a timely basis (every few weeks) is best in achieving optimal hair free results. Every individual hair is treated so that the hairs need to be visible approximately 1/8th-1/4th inch long. I will use a sterile, disposable probe to glide into the hair follicle. You will feel a sensation of heat for only a few seconds. Settings will be adjusted to your particular hair and skin needs.
Most clients experience minimal pain with electrolysis, however, pain tolerance thresholds vary greatly depending on the individual and particular area of body being treated. If advised, over-the–counter topical lidocaine 4% numbing creams and gels are available for use for particularly sensitive clients.
Upon completion of your session, I will clean your skin and perform an aftercare procedure called cataphoresis. Cataphoresis helps calm and soothe the skin, reduces redness and inflammation, and starts the healing process.
Post Care Treatment
Most people exhibit little or no post-treatment manifestations. Your skin may be red and/or tender initially following treatment. These manifestations are temporary and disappear within a few hours. Good hygiene is an essential part of your post-treatment care. Keeping the skin clean and free of bacterial contamination during the first 48 hours post-treatment is essential. Please refer to AEA (American Electrology Association) recommended guidelines found on my post-treatment care form conveniently posted for you on my website.
Revolutionary Technology
Introducing Dectro’s Apilus xCell
Quicker Results, Increased Power, Exceptional Comfort
The Apilus xCell sets a new standard in the field making it possible to achieve 100% permanent hair removal results by raising the efficiency, speed, and comfort of its predecessors to a whole new level. Apilus xCell uses ultra-rapid 27.12 MHz radio frequency focusing the energy more intensely at the base of the hair, producing permanent results much more quickly on all hair types. This state-of-the-art computerized system uses mere thousandths of a second within the hair follicle, targeting germ cells to prevent new hair growth from occurring.
To be honest, this machine is really what convinced me to go to electrolysis school! We finally have modern electrolysis technology that truly makes our time and money worth it. This machine is simply phenomenal in getting faster results. I am committed to always using the most competitive machines and equipment, along with updated current techniques and skills in the ever-evolving field of electrolysis to give you the results that you deserve.
